some of my favorite moments from the production of this album 1. in Talk talk there’s this combination of synths right after “think you’re getting closer” that is just so good, it sounds like what butterflies in your stomach feels like 2. The little effect on the word “jump” for “you gon jump if AG made it” Actually, all of the little effects that sound really SOPHIE-inspired, especially in Club Classics (“put your hands up and dance”) 3. The beat shift at the beginning of “yeah she’s in her mid-20s, real intelligent” 4. The “ah ah ah ah ah” after “i’m so Julia” will never leave my head for the next four business months 5. The cadence on “and I just laughed when the bodies went splat”

Love your ideas on the album, you made me re-listen to the entire thing just to pick up on all the stuff you mentioned 🥳 Charli is one of my favorite artists, and I have a lot of conflicting opinions on this project. It’s definitely one of her best produced albums yet, though I felt that the lyrics suffered in a few of the songs. She chose to write a lot of the lines in the most literal way possible and it’s so direct that some of them felt immature to me. That being said, the insane production on this album is definitely going to influence the next cycle of pop music and I can’t wait ! I’m so glad Charli is leaning towards more experimental and unique tracks. like she says, maybe billboard will make her lose to someone playing safer, but she’s still the one pushing pop forward… anyways 365 supremacy

I actually kind of don’t like this line, I felt like she could have addressed her position as an artist in a more creative way. This song felt a little all over the place, I wished she had given it more direction and leaned into the contrast of the “burning songs I didn’t know/putting polish on my toes” era of her career compared with the “fuck billboard” era. Those two ideas are very interesting when they’re contrasted directly and I thought she sort of muddied the song by including her personal insecurities (weight/ face shape). Or maybe that was just my personal problem because whenever I hear other women bringing up their weight and face shape issues I get dragged out of the song into thinking about my own issues with those things, and the cultural context of my friends’ and female family members’ issues as well. It’s just such an odd choice to throw those huge topics into this kind of song. I can understand what you mean about her delivery though, it’s biting for sure, she’s always been good at this sort of thing 🫶 shes my favorite artist for real

I think they did that Dancing Queen number for nostalgia bait. The first movie's dancing queen scene also features ppl skipping around and dancing together and a huge crowd dance. They even passed the same old woman who was carrying wood😂

spring breakers needed mentioning esp the moment where she swears she'll be "so nice" and says she'll "do [her] speech on time, maybe somethin' just like" and then just drops back into the chorus warning ppl she's abt to blow up the entire fucking place. ICONIC. also ur freckles r so adorable whastthjb\ashgdasjcb h

In Everything is Romantic, the whole song is set in Italy with Pompeii, Capri, Orange Drinks (Aperol), scooters (vespas), manual drive (have to drive in manual because the mountains are so hard to drive in) references, and in Italy there are Jesuses absolutely everywhereeee he is inescapable. Ones made of more expensive material too but little plastic ones make their way into random crevices of places.

My personal favorite moment on the record is that wild jazz piano solo on “Mean Girls.” Between this and “SAOKO” by ROSALÍA, it seems like out-of-the-blue jazz piano breakdowns could be the hot new thing! (We can only hope.)

About the line "jesus christ in a plastic sign" I've been thinking seriously for days because it really hit me (Yes, I do have a job) I F E E L like she's just saying: that theres a New way to translate powerful images concepts emotions through new lens like, in her case, putting so many conflicting hard sad beautiful emotions in a intensive eletronic body (the plastic sign) but still remaining touching, which is the perfect match for the concept of 'everything is romantic' I T H I N K meaning: Electronic music can carry HEAVY emotion, it's a small modern revolution

Commitment from the first second of the video (not ironically appreciated) good job sir/madam Edit while I watch: REALLY good points I'm so happy there are People who feel music in depth, like me, like, counting how many times she said "falling in love again and again" you also have a cute smile

I love when the beat drops in b2b (took a long time) the synths get so nasty it makes my mouth water. Also shout out to the first verse in Spring Breakers. "Vroom vroom vroom vroom in a big pink truck" then it goes to "Place went boom boom boom bom clap"

"everything is romantic" is about her trip to italy last year. she's just listing off the visual elements of vacationing in italy: leather-tanned skin, lace curtains, jesus christ on a plastic sign (like on homes in italy),capris in the distance etc. given charli's approach to this album is to move away from poetry and metaphor and speak literally, I really think she's just using that to paint the scene with not much more to it

i don’t tend to like club music. i hadn’t really listened to charli apart from fancy and shit just on the radio but brat is just fun. that’s the only way i can explain why i like it so much. she just seems like she had fun making it, and for that reason alone i fuck with it
